Video is playing a larger role in corporate learning.  This report profiles 34 providers of video-enabled solutions as applied for corporate learning.  In researching these solutions for the second year in a row, we are impressed by the range and depth of capabilities added by the vendor community. Some vendors specialize in specific use cases while others offer video learning platforms that address multiple use cases.   The report includes a discussion of the business and consumer technologies that are impacting corporate learning, the evolution of the enterprise learning ecosystem, and descriptions of key learning management and video capabilities.

An analysis of use cases and related benefits is followed by a detailed review of the vendor landscape. Vendors are evaluated by several criteria including focus on video as a learning tool as well as ability to execute.  A total of 34 vendors are evaluated.  New this year: Skillsoft, Docebo, and Workday entering champion roles among LMS providers; Allego joining the group of champions among focused informal learning & coaching platforms; and KnowledgeVision emerging as a champion among streaming video platforms.  Also added this year: coverage of D2L, CrossKnowledge, and Videonitch.  Discover Video and Instructure were added in June 2018.  The report closes with a discussion of several technology and market trends that are influencing the development of these solutions and that will have an impact by 2020.
