The major Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) event in North America
in 2014 offers business managers, IT / conferencing professionals & leading vendors,
integrators, and resellers the perfect meeting place to learn the latest developments
in the industry, hear from well-known analysts and consultants, & develop
collaborative strategies for 2014 and beyond.

Wainhouse Research Summits are internationally recognized as the premier industry events for the conferencing and collaboration community.  We are returning to the west coast after one of our most successful Summits ever in Santa Clara in 2013.  Harnessing the creative talents and emerging players of the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay area, the Summit will draw upon all of those involved in the UC&C industry, including IT strategists in the enterprise, manufacturers, service providers, VARs and SIs.

The event is a unique experience for attendees to learn from and interact with industry experts, technology leaders, fellow conferencing and collaboration managers, IT managers, end users, and an assortment of Wainhouse Research analysts. The focus: developing a UC&C strategy, understanding new and existing UC&C products and services, integrating existing collaborative technologies into next generation solutions, and driving business transformation.

Our 2014 Summit will focus on the rapidly evolving UC&C solution set,
the disruptive nature of emerging technologies, and how the Cloud
and new service partners are impacting delivery of services.
We'll be looking at convergence and how a variety of capabilities are coming from
so many different vendors - and help attendees sort through the 'cloud' of confusion.

WR UC&C Summits address these issues through education, challenging discourse, and knowledge-sharing, helping users, service providers, and vendors alike address critical product creation and deployment challenges.

The 2014 North American Summit will start early on Tuesday, 15 July and end mid-afternoon on Wednesday, 16 July.

  • 9:30 AM
  • The "Cloud" of Confusion around VC as a Service
  • Ira M. Weinstein, Senior Analyst & Partner, Wainhouse Research
  • Cloud service offerings are the talk of the town in the video conferencing space. Some services focus on video bridging alone, while others provide a wide range of additional services. All claim to offer the same basic benefit --- video conferencing across the entire enterprise, without the hassle, complexity, and up-front cost of an on-premise deployment. This presentation focuses on the real benefits of a VC service offering; the types of VC service offerings available; what you can expect to see after activating a service (and what you won't see); and what makes one service offering better than another.

  • In an increasingly fast-paced world, legacy AV solutions can present a roadblock to collaboration and decision making. A new generation of collaboration solutions move beyond the dedicated use-case model, to provide the flexibility of a multipurpose space that supports use cases from small team meetings to big data analysis. Through the simultaneous display of multiple content types and inputs, and by providing participants with the ability to seamlessly interact with content, greater engagement is achieved. Learn how to raise team productivity to a whole new level.
