CAMBRIDGE, MA – To deliver care anytime, anywhere through live video on phones, computers and tablets, SBR Health, a health-IT company based in Cambridge, MA, has been contracted by Partners HealthCare to expand Partners’ clinical care delivery virtually into the cloud. Partners HealthCare, founded by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital -- two of the top ten hospitals in the nation as ranked by U.S. News & World Report, is a leader in developing and utilizing innovative technologies to foster better communication, build relationships, improve access and convenience, and enhance overall patient care.
Partners has incorporated SBR’s Virtual Visits platform into multiple practice areas including Cardiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Cancer and Primary Care to provide patients with a high-quality and personalized care experience as an alternative option to in-person visits for follow up care.
‘SBR Health is committed to advancing the roadmap for virtual visits at several of today’s top healthcare delivery organizations by providing a solution that is simple, secure and fully customizable for specific workflow needs,’ said Christopher Herot, CEO and Co-Founder of SBR Health. ‘We find that a lot of healthcare organizations talk about innovation but Partners as an organization has found a way to effectively implement innovation. ‘
Other top US healthcare delivery organizations such as Boston Children’s Hospital, Joslin Diabetes Center, Mayo Clinic, and Dartmouth Hitchcock are using SBR’s virtual visit system to allow their care providers to integrate video visits into their daily patient workflows. This allows them to work virtually anywhere at any time they choose, while simultaneously allowing them to address staff shortages, serve hard to reach patients, control costs and ultimately increase the level of patient care.
SBR’s open-service-based platform allows video visit and video consult solutions to be deployed easily and quickly, and can also be integrated with healthcare IT systems such as Electronic Medical Records, scheduling and patient portals, as well as existing videoconferencing hardware to promote more efficient and effective care delivery. Video visit solutions provided by SBR Health include real-time sourcing and deployment of clinical resources, patient-initiated requests for care, ad-hoc collaborative video sessions, virtual rounding and pre-scheduled patient visits. All solutions are structured for simplicity and are fully customizable for specific workflow needs.
‘Partners HealthCare is a progressive organization to work with as they are very much dedicated to providing more convenient options for patients to communicate with their physicians as well as improving how patients experience the health care system,’ said Herot. ‘By taking advantage of our new advances in cloud-based virtual visit solutions, physicians at Partners HealthCare practices are able to reduce patient time spent in the office while simultaneously keeping patient satisfaction high.’
SBR Health is supporting many healthcare leaders such as Partners HealthCare to leverage telehealth to achieve the goals of the ‘triple aim’ that include improving the experience of care, improving the health of populations, and reducing per capita costs of healthcare. To learn more about how your organization can utilize SBR Health’s virtual visit system in your care delivery models, visit SBR Health at the upcoming American Telemedicine Conference in Baltimore, May 17-20. SBR Health will be exhibiting and also leading panel session on Monday, May 19th, with participants from Partners HealthCare, Joslin Diabetes Center, University of Rochester and Mayo Clinic.
