Cisco’s Web Collaboration Solutions

Profile and analysis of Cisco and its web collaboration offerings

In January 2017, Cisco announced the Spark Board, a large interactive display surface designed to enable a new level of meeting room collaboration, cloud services to back the offering, and “Spark Meetings 2.0”, the next iteration of its core virtual meetings and team collaboration platform. Chuck Robbins, Cisco’s CEO, proclaimed the offerings are intended to “Connect all of those creative minds – unleash the creativity – so that great things occur”. Specific to web collaboration, the announcements provided an update on the positioning of Spark Meetings in relation to WebEx going forward – and how the offerings will coexist and capitalize on the next-gen technology found in the underlying Spark platform.

This profile examines Cisco from a personal & web collaboration (PWC) perspective by reviewing the company's conferencing & collaboration portfolio, examining its PWC and PCS-related offerings in detail, and giving our analysis going forward.  Specific offerings discussed include:

  • Cisco WebEx (& Collaboration Meeting Rooms)
